It turned out that just by purging the modem drivers and reinstalling it worked great. Oh and it was a conexant modem too, good heads up on that one AO. Also totally purge your modems drivers, try reinstalling then as with some conexants your driver database must be purged of previous installs.

I'm trying to put the modem in a new computer system w/ W95, but I don't have the drivers and the system won't find the modem unless it's rigged for PnP. If I set the modem for PnP, the system finds the modem, but I can't load the drivers, and TI doesn't support (or I can't find ) the modems drivers anymore.

Furthermore, is there a file or books that list all the command sets for different modems? It seems like I need to build modem drivers for each brand of modems.
